Organizational change -- Management

In this second video on organizational change, Professor Rousseau explores the challenges in managing the transition from the old state to the new organizational environment.

Transition is often synonymous with chaos. To reduce the amount of time spent in transition, Professor Rousseau recommends six processes: 1. Creating transition structures. 2. Managing losses through offsets and substitutions. 3. Mastery of change related skills. 4. Measuring progress in terms of change-related processes and behavior. 5. Keeping focused on the change strategy while acknowledging complaints, and 6. Punctuation, or ending the old.

Key concepts are illustrated by examples are taken from the hospital world. The video concludes with summary slides.
